La colonia de Carmela is a tribute to the cherished memory of those summers on Patacona Beach, where we spent many years enjoying the wooden beach huts by the sea with our family.
We’ve created a space where Valencian cuisine, the Mediterranean beach, and the recreation of that atmosphere come together to offer an authentic and memorable gastronomic experience.
Our menu also carries the essence of the century-old Casa Carmela, as they share ownership, management, and culinary philosophy.
Valencian rice dishes, fresh local and seasonal ingredients from the market and fish auction. Every dish on our menu pays homage to the traditional flavours of the past, reinterpreted in the same unique setting of sand and sea.
It recalls the communal lifestyle of the beach hut colonies: meals prepared leisurely with the day’s offerings from local vendors, long after-dinner conversations, and afternoons spent fishing.
La Colonia de Carmela is born in 2025 as a remembrance of those times.
